Finally it happened! Verizon iPhone4 will be available from February 10, 2011 as the company just announced the news on the event held in NYC. The new Verizon iPhone4 will come with a 3G Hotspot mobile application for Wi-Fi tethering. The device won’t support simultaneous voice and data connections like AT&T.
“We welcome this game-changing device to our network and to our Verizon family,”
said Dan Mead, CEO of Verizon Wireless.
Tim Cook, Apple’s COO made his presence on the event told Apple was extremely pleased to combine with Verizon. “We are incredibly excited to bring the iPhone experience to Verizon’s 93 million customers. Both of us think there is a tremendous opportunity,” Cook said. “This is the start of something big.”
Verizon iPhone4 can be ordered be the previous Verizon customers from February 3rd onwards which costs $200 for the 16 GB model and 32 GB for $300. There would be a 2 year agreement on the particular purchase. Others can order the device from February 10th onwards. There is no 4G data or GSM roaming but, the phone is Verizon 3G (EV-DO) only.
There is slight difference in the antenna design and the volume controls on the new Verizon iPhone4. Users can get more about the orders here.
