Android Surpasses Symbian in Smartphone Market Share

As we expected this time Android holds it tight and just surpassed all the other smartphone competitors like Symbian, Apple etc. Recent analysis from Canalys says nearly 33 million Android smartphones were shipped in the Q4 of 2010.

This shows the rapid growth of Android as the previous stats for them was just 4.7 millions! Android pulled Symbian, which holds nearly 30 million shipments back to the second position. Apple just keeps their position steady on 3rd with 16.2 million shipments. Also the market share shows Android growth is just amazing with their open systems.
